The short-lived Eddie Miller big band only had one studio session, resulting in four numbers, before breaking up. Fortunately, this LP adds 14 additional titles (three with period vocals by Kathy Summers) that were made as radio transcriptions by the swinging outfit in 1944. Miller, one of the top pre-bop tenor saxophonists, is the main soloist throughout the album, and although his band did not have many big names (best known are clarinetist/arranger Matty Matlock, pianist Stan Wrightsman, rhythm guitarist Nappy Lamare and drummer Nick Fatool), it was a fine successor to Bob Crosby's Orchestra, with which Miller had gained his initial fame.
