AllMusic Review by

The Heavy Heavy Hits is a 1998 repackaging of the 1992 video collection Divine Madness. It was released to coincide with Madstock 4 the fourth Madness reunion concert in London's Finsbury Park. All of the Madness videos to date are contained in this collection, capturing the band's journey from the unimaginative band-playing-in-a-studio approach of early videos for songs like "The Prince," "Bed and Breakfast Man," and "My Girl" through their development into the masters of low-budget nuttiness that produced the flying saxophonist of "Baggy Trousers," the clumsy, Keystone Cops of "Shut Up," and the dancing ear wax of "The Sun and the Rain." It includes the complete contents of both Complete Madness and Utter Madness, as well as an additional bonus: the video for "I Pronounce You," the single from the band's unsuccessful 1988 reincarnation as the Madness. For those who already have Divine Madness, there's no need to pick up this one; its contents are exactly the same.
