The Greatest Songs? If this were such a collection, this would be a greatest-hits album by the Miracles with guest appearances from the Temptations, Mary Wells and the Marvelettes (whose torchy mid-tempo ballad work with Robinson represent the high point in their career and are alarmingly not represented). The obligatory standards are represented here, but the selection is neither insightful enough nor sufficently comprehensive to provide an outline of Robinson's skills. Great idea, wrong approach.
