Unless another label is able to perfect the sound of some of the 7" and 12" mixes compiled on the second disc here (which isn't likely), this release from the Harmless label -- specifically the folks responsible for the excellent Disco Discharge series -- shall remain the definitive way to acquire Change's first two albums. The first disc consists of The Glow of Love (1980) and Miracles (1981), while disc two provides a 17-track assortment of single and alternate mixes, as well as edits. There's even a 7" edit of "The End," a blazing instrumental Italo-disco one-off. Change were among the best (and most undervalued) disco/R&B studio groups of the '80s, and this set -- not a single-disc compilation -- is the place to start, even though its thoroughness is clearly aimed at serious fans.
