The 60's on K-Tel is another in a long line of collections that are made up of inferior re-recordings of some classic-'60s soul, rock and pop classics. Fans of the era might be suckered in by tracks like the Troggs' "Wild Thing," Gene Chandler's "Duke of Earl" or the Drifters' "Save the Last Dance for Me," especially since the front cover makes no mention of the scam-like nature of the contents. The bands and artists involved bear some of the blame for this disc but they were no doubt driven to cheapen their past glories by a lack of royalties. K-Tel shoulders the bulk of the blame, they should really be ashamed of themselves.
