A criminally brief collection at only ten tracks, Jazz Masters: Ella Fitzgerald comprises recordings from Fitzgerald's stint as the girl wunderkind of swing's brightest band, the Chick Webb Orchestra. Along with the group's brightest hits ("A-Tisket, A-Tasket," "Darktown Strutters Ball"), Fitzgerald invigorates "When I Get Low I Get High" and "That Old Black Magic." The material is solid, but it's available elsewhere in dozens of different sources boasting better sound, value, and detail.
