AllMusic Review by

The 1998 Sublime documentary Stories, Tales, Lies & Exaggerations is a must-have for serious fans. Stretching past two hours in length, this video/DVD contains numerous interviews with bandmembers, friends, and family members, and is chock-full of live performances from throughout their career. Interviewees include members of No Doubt, punk vet Mike Watt, all the surviving members of Sublime and their extended family, as well as the late Brad Nowell's father and wife. Although a total of 22 live tracks are included, not all are presented in their entirety (a frustrating trend with most music videos nowadays), but since the majority of Sublime's fans were probably not lucky enough to catch the group live during their tenure together, Stories, Tales, Lies & Exaggerations will serve as the next best thing.
