Business is the perfect example of the average British Oi! band. Bubbling over with passion, they perform their songs with a visceral power found quite rarely in other genres of music. On the flip side of that coin, they also perform some of the most generic, by-the-numbers punk rock imaginable. With so many good intentions behind a project, it can be hard to take a step back and examine it. But after the initial first listen (which is where the real power of this genre lies), it becomes apparent that all the songs are essentially the same and no amount of good politics will change that. Certain songs stand out, particularly "Work or Riot," "Tell Us the Truth," and "Smash the Discos." But the only reason they really stand out is because they are different from the interchangeable three-chord anthems that come before them. Fans of this brand of punk rock may find this enjoyable, but for the average listener this is nothing that a hundred other bands haven't done before.
