AllMusic Review by

This LP from 1983 is comprised of a variety of previously unissued material featuring vocalists from the 1954-64 era. Tony Bennett has never been a jazz singer but his three selections from 1964 with tenor-saxophonist Stan Getz and pianist Herbie Hancock are worth hearing. Also included are two numbers by Carmen McRae (one with Louis Armstrong) from the Dave Brubeck play The Real Ambassadors, a pair of songs by Lambert, Hendricks And Ross, Jon Hendricks singing "Don't Mess Around with My Love," Mose Allison performing "Fool's Paradise" and an obscure vocal group The Gordons in 1954 singing "Babs" with backing from a band that includes Al Cohn on tenor. This LP will be difficult to find but collectors will find it of interest.
