These are kora-playing brothers-in-law, one Senegalese, one Gambian. Both are fine musicians -- Dembo (the son of the great Alhaji Bai Konte) is one of the best-known kora virtuosi -- who toured very successfully together and separately. Their first joint album, made on the eve of their 1987 British tour, was excellent. Simbomba, recorded at the end of it, is marginally better.
