On his second album, Roots and Wings, James Bonamy continues to move forward, adding depth and variety to his music. Bonamy is singing better than ever, investing the slightest songs with skill and passion. Musically, Roots and Wings is a little uneven, suffering from a couple of weak spots here and there, yet the best moments are seamless, well-crafted contemporary country.
