This CD contains three different meditations, one for each meal of the day. On the extra track, violins, piano, rain, and other ambient sounds merge to form a truly tranquil environment for meditation and relaxation. This is integral to successful weight loss, as stress is often the motivation for the temporary refuge of compulsive eating. Once total relaxation is achieved, digestion improves, nervous system becomes quieter, and the need for empty calories lessens. This feeling of wellbeing eliminates emotional dependence on eating. Breathing, stretching, and relaxing are emphasized, and Chiarella teaches listeners to celebrate their success and see themselves as beautiful in order to bring about these positive changes. Chiarella, a popular yoga instructor, has a nurturing, soothing voice that is also gently authoritative, making it unusually easy to follow her lead. In this way, Chiarella's approach ensures less "ego" resistance to the meditations, which can be a problem for the restless mind of many beginners.
