All throughout their Nothing to Say single, Houston natives Rubber come across as a small group of nerdy guys who repressed all of their feelings of getting heartbroken and picked on in high school. Within their crunchy, distorted power pop and shaky, whiny vocals that sound as if they're about to crack any second is contained a lyrical disarray of bad days and sour relationships. As heard on the B-side track of "Sick": "Now it's over/Now my heart is buried in the ground." Self-pity never sounded so catchy.
