One of Bobby Hackett's favorite groups was the quintet he co-led with trombonist Vic Dickenson during 1969-71. Fortunately this relatively short-lived unit made more than its share of recordings (all of them live). Hackett and Dickenson both had soft tones and fluent styles that were flexible enough to bring new life and their own brand of sly wit to these veteran songs. This set does not duplicate any of the Chiaroscuro releases.
