AllMusic Review by

Pickwick in 1989 came out with six CDs whose material was taken from the Black & White catalog of the mid-'40s. This particular release has trios led by pianists Errol Garner (in an early set), Gene Schroeder (a rare feature for the Eddie Condon-associated pianist), the forgotten Ray Stokes and bassist Red Callender whose combo with guitarist Leonard Enois and pianist William McDaniel has group vocals a la the Nat King Cole Trio. The music overall is not really essential but swing fans will find it quite enjoyable.
