Although this is thought of as saxophonist Bill Evans' debut as a leader, a 1982 Japanese session (later reissued on Evidence) actually precedes it by a year. Evans (on tenor, soprano, flute and synth) teams up with keyboardist Mitch Forman, bassist Mark Egan, drummer Adam Nussbaum (Danny Gottlieb takes his place on one song) and percussionist Manolo Badrena for a set of his funky originals, excellent crossover music for 1983 although it sounds a touch dated today. The performances on this out of print LP have yet to be reissued on CD.
