AllMusic Review by

Some of Slim's earliest post-war sides for Miracle and King (1946-1949), and some of his best. He'd already assembled his little combo with saxists Alex Atkins and Ernest Cotton by that time (interchangeable bassists included Willie Dixon and Big Crawford; no drums necessary), and the classics were flowing: "Lend Me Your Love," "Nobody Loves Me" (adapted by Lowell Fulson as "Every Day I Have the Blues"), and the luxurious "Messin' Around with the Blues."
