Although the average Frédéric François song from the '70s and '80s is boring and bland, this album does its best to put together the most listenable music from that period in his career. Equal parts bubblegum and adult contemporary, the music has a seriousness and stern feel that betrays its pop tendencies. Francois is a great singer, though, and his talents are exercised to their limit on this weak material. There are some good songs here, especially toward the beginning, but be warned that even Francois' best material is still barely above average.
