Each of these bands have that uppity, emo-pop sound with a high-pitched vocalist and an all-around playful overtone in their sappy, heartfelt lyrics. Translation: Both Kid Brother Collective and Chamber sound exactly like the Get Up Kids. Seriously, this split could pass as a 7" EP for that band whom they try so hard to sound like, even if the only difference between the two is that KBC has a piano in their song while Chamber uses some additional vocal harmonies. Still, they are just a couple of the many examples of groups attempting to climb aboard that emo bandwagon (especially considering that a few members of KBC were in the metallic hardcore band Spit a few years before this record came out).
