AllMusic Review by

The first cut, a fascinating one-man hocket for voice and nose flute, became the inspiration for Herbie Hancock's updated arrangement of "Watermelon Man" on the Headhunters album. This adapted yodel shows up throughout the album in a variety of settings, often propelled by drums and enmeshed with unison lines sung by men, women, or children, at times exuberant, at others contemplative. It differentiates this group from others whose music is commercially available, making this rare release well worth searching out.
