AllMusic Review by

Singer/guitarist Buzz King linked with three friends -- Paul Bauman and Chris Lovejoy of the band Magnet, along with Steve Christensen -- to spend an afternoon writing and recording a CD's worth of quickie lo-fi rock songs. The results were issued in the US as I'm Truly Sorry; for UK release, they were packaged with a previously recorded EP called We Love You and issued under the title I Shave My Pussy. Considering their impromptu nature, the bulk of the songs offer surprisingly tight musicianship. They falter, however, on astonishingly immature lyrics: the recurring themes are bodily functions, sophomoric sex talk, jealousy of successful musicians, and remorse at the prospect of growing up. As such, it's hardly satisfying listening as an album. The players work well enough together -- drummer Lovejoy being particularly sensitive to his bandmates' needs -- that they could have made a good album together, even with King's barely capable vocals. Instead, I Shave My Pussy is a testament to disinterest.
