Paul Verhoeven's Invisible Man update Hollow Man features a score composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith, making this the third time the director and composer have worked together (they also collaborated on Basic Instinct and Total Recall). As with the special effects driven film, the score is also technologically enhanced: Recorded with DSD (Direct Stream Digital) encoding, which samples the music signal 2.8 million times per second, resulting in a crisp, dynamically rich sound. All the better to hear Goldsmith's creative arrangements and kinetic, riveting melodies on this score.
