More classic live performance led by several singers, but mostly Rev. Arthur T. Jones, a singer in classic heavy-voiced, half-preaching vein. There's no general uplift here, either: "Jesus Is the Light" is the title of one number, and the message of all of them. The choir arrangements are a little lusher than The Thompson Singers'. The backings include rather irrelevant strings, but a strong organ and piano component add to the traditional basis. Several cuts are long enough to allow for real development, too.
