Salt Lake City eccentrics Kill bring a wide range of influences to their aptly named debut EP, Extended Play. For the most part, its six tracks are rooted in alternately brutal hardcore and melodic alt-rock, with both singer Jason Knott (aka Jas) and guitarist Levi Lebo employing a number of different voices and tones as they see fit. The results are often difficult and disorienting (rather like a less refined Paw), but, with patience and repeated listens, standout cuts like "Pale Skin Art" and "Another Kiss Goodnight" grow surprisingly palatable, and remain, at the very least, always interesting.
