This record is probably for Erroll Garner die-hards only. Despite his genius on piano, as well as the performances on this record, this is one of the worst recorded and mastered jazz records of its time. Garner and his group, the Maxwell Davis Trio, perform admirably on the cuts, but the analogy of a string and a Dixie Cup for a recording studio is apt here. Garner's incredible stretch, touch, grace, and octave manipulation is apparent, but it's just too difficult to really get through the whole record.
