The Lollies' second release continues the promising fun of the Bang Bang Bang EP, showing a gentler side to the group instead of cranking up the feedback. "Channel Heaven" itself, a sweet paean to one of St. Claire's favorite U.K. groups, the Channel Six, makes for a perfectly summery guitar pop song pitched somewhere between the Cure and the Magnetic Fields musically. St. Claire's delivery of lines about the "beautiful boy with the bedroom eyes" is just as winning. The B-side, "Pearls," features an enjoyable duet between St. Claire and Lazowski that is definitely sassy in its own way. The music itself slides between everything from the Velvet Underground's chug to gentle psych keyboards and back again, and why not?
