Casey Kasem's America's Top 10 series often has a step or two on its competing retrospectives, and this 1960s volume is no different. It digs no deeper than the play list of your local oldies station, but packs in the hits and varies the styles with little filler. There are fuzzy rock classics from the Troggs, the Yardbirds, and Shadows of Knight, girl group harmony from the Angels ("My Boyfriend's Back"), the Supremes ("Baby Love"), and the smooth R&B of the Rascals ("Groovin'") and Otis Redding ("[Sittin' On] the Dock of the Bay"), not to mention "Bus Stop" by the Hollies, and the Beach Boys' "I Get Around." Casey Kasem: America's Top 10 is a great buy for the casual fan. It even includes liners and artist photos in the CD booklet.
