AllMusic Review by

It's been said before, but it bears repeating: there has been a seemingly never-ending supply of live UFO releases over the years. And it doesn't take a genius to recognize that it's because UFO have had seemingly little control over what gets released from the archives -- one of the more spotty releases is 2008's Broadcast Rarities. Comprised of a CD and DVD that mirror the exact same track listing, there are only six songs total on each. Included are such early ditties as "Boogie for George" and "Space Child" (which show the band still finding its footing), as well as such classics as "Doctor Doctor" and "Rock Bottom" (which show UFO in their better-known guise as hard rock anthem-bearers). But the sonic quality is comparable to a bootleg, and with many of these tracks available elsewhere in far better renditions, Broadcast Rarities comes off as a ripoff.
