This unusual collector's LP features three jazz-influenced dance bands that were prominent in Europe during the late '20s. Sam Wooding's Orchestra is a legendary (if erratic) American big band which is heard on six rare titles with solos from trombonist Al Wynn, trumpeter Bobby Martin, Gene Sedric on tenor and pianist Freddy Johnson among others. Gregor's Gregorians is most notable for the presence of the fine trumpeter Phillipe Brun while Lud Gluskin's Ambassadonians has a spot for the bass sax of Spencer Clark. Although this LP is far from essential, it should interest adventurous 1920s colectors.
