Bienvenidos! is a perfect example of credible, worthwhile, and very listenable ska music. The Parka Kings do a great job of not pigeonholing themselves into the "contemporary" or third wave ska sound. Within the first six tracks of the album, the listener is exposed to many different types of music. "City Limits" is an exciting song with great production. The track features horn harmonies, which is a nice break from the (normally) doubled melody lines. This is quality third wave ska. "Souled" features some textured organ, which exposes the listener to more of a reggae sound than anything else. "Mob Boss" is a great re-creation of a '70s U.K. ska sound. Reaping the benefits of echo on the vocals, this is a great track. "Midnight Sails" is the standout track simply because it is a new sound altogether. This is another great song -- think of a ska version of the Pogues. This is a great album featuring tight musicianship, inventive instrumentation, and classic production.
