AllMusic Review by

This LP is split evenly between a Benny Goodman broadcast from 1936 and selections from three of Tommy Dorsey's appearances on radio (dating from 1937, 1938 and 1941). The Goodman performances have a pair of Helen Ward vocals, a quartet version of "Sweet Sue" and a swinging "Jam Session." The Dorsey broadcasts are highlighted by some fine solos from trumpeter Pee Wee Erwin (featured on "Marie" in place of Bunny Berigan), tenorman Bud Freeman and trumpeter Ziggy Elman among others. Few surprises are provided by either band but the music swings effectively and occasionally with excitement.
