After 28 years, the band still has enough caliber to maintain a strong following and make highly danceable albums. This one manages to be a swinging standout. As Frankie Ruiz leaves the Tommy Olivencia Orchestra to continue a highly successful career, Paquito Acosta joins the band to sing with Héctor Tricoche. A good combination of voices and great orchestra performances are the main elements in this recording. The arrangements are by Olivencia regulars Edgardo Nevarez, Angel "Pajai" Torres, Carlos "Cuto" Soto, and Máximo Torres; these gentlemen have helped the bandleader keep a winning and continuing formula in spite of the trends that for years have altered the face of salsa. "Periquito Pin Pin," "Dícelo a Él," and the salsa version of Wilkins' pop hit "Con Mi Música a Otro Lado" are the most recommendable cuts.
