AllMusic Review by

Russian native Eugene Maslov makes his American recording debut with this strong trio date released in 1997. Joined by bassist Ben Street and drummer George Schuller, the classically trained pianist salutes the late piano master Bill Evans with a well-crafted arrangement of the tricky "My Bells." He also handles classic Americana such as "Old Folks" and "How Deep Is the Ocean" with aplomb. Both the delicate title track and the lively samba "Let's Start Smoking Again" demonstrate Maslov's prowess as a composer.
