AllMusic Review by

The Past Perfect compilation And Her Tears Flowed Like Wine includes performances from Anita O'Day's period as a big-band girl singer, an occupation to which she brought the same fiery spirit and independent flair that would mark her many solo recordings. At only 16 tracks, this one ranks behind a few similar compilations (1941-1945 on L'Art Vocal is far superior), but it does include O'Day's two biggest performances from the swing era: "Let Me Off Uptown" with Roy Eldridge and the Gene Krupa Orchestra and "And Her Tears Flow Like Wine" with Stan Kenton & His Orchestra.
