Willacy's debut release, a five-song EP, covers some substantial stylistic ground, but seems to indicate a singer-songwriter still in search of a voice. Quieter tunes like "If You Knew" tread on alt-folk territory with their violins, cellos, and accordion. On the harder rock tracks he uses a more forceful vocal and instrumental style that somewhat recalls Sting and Steve Winwood when he goes for the high notes. Four of the songs are from his 2000 american pi CD; the only cut exclusive to this disc is the busy, agitated "Hangman."
