AllMusic Review by

During the 1949-53 period, trumpeter Sharkey Bonano recorded several albums worth of material for Capitol. This LP is drawn from six different sessions, but has similar-styled personnel, with Bonano joined by either Santa Pecora, Charles Miller, Jack Delaney or Jimmy Blount on trombone, Lester Bouchon or Bujie Centobie on clarinet, and a fine rhythm section with either Jeff Riddick or Stan Mendelson on piano. Co-leading the album is veteran singer Lizzie Miles, who is on five of the 12 numbers, including "A Good Man Is Hard to Find" and "Salty Dog." Bonano is in fine form on a set mostly consisting of Dixieland standards. Unfortunately, Capitol has yet to really exploit the many Dixieland-oriented sessions in its catalog and bring enjoyable music like this set back in print.
