Despite its claims that the music is entirely from 1944, some of the titles on the budget Alamac LP actually date from 1941. The music throughout is actually quite good and consistently swings. All of the performances are from radio transcriptions, some of which has been reissued by Jass. Since the Jack Teagarden big band (which did not boast any major names among its sidemen) made relatively few studio recordings during this period (it never really caught on commercially), these renditions are quite valuable. Swing fans and Teagarden collectors will want to search for this album.
