Gene Clark

Full Circle Song

Composed by Gene Clark

Song Review by

Although Clark always denied that "Full Circle" was an autobiographical song about his own fame and lost fortune, it's hard to believe it's not. The song speaks of winning and losing friends and alliances, and the perils of fluctuating fortune. All of this is couched in a wonderful, folk/country melody. Recorded for the 1973 Byrds reunion album, an excellent and slightly superior version was cut a year earlier for an unreleased 1972 A&M solo album, later to appear as Roadmaster.
