Artist Biography

Vegas Soul is the name used by Hook Recordings owner, Chris Cowie (b. 8 February 1967, Scotland) to indulge his "tech-house" inclinations. A hypnotic blend of house and techno, Vegas Soul releases have received praise from the dance music press. Thomas H. Green of the UK's DJ magazine commented on Day By Day: ". . . a smooth ear-friendly blend of early Detroit influences and crisply produced stripped-down house ' it quietly, classyily sneaks up on you whether at home or on the dancefloor." Like his other incarnation, X-Cabs, Vegas Soul demonstrates Cowie's obvious enthusiasm for dance music with integrity that builds on its Detroit and European heritage and is not swayed by short-lived musical fashions. Cowie is not to be confused with Chris Cowie the film and television music producer, currently responsible for Top Of The Pops.
