Terminal Sect is a New York duo made up of vocalist/programmer Colin Schwan and guitarist/programmer Howard Wulkan. The band's original purpose was to make music for multimedia presentations involving Schwan's sometimes grotesque paintings, but gradually evolved into its own entity. Their debut album, thehumansconditioned, was released in 1995 and followed shortly by the remix EP Gun Worship, which featured two remixes by En Esch of KMFDM. The proper follow-up to thehumansconditioned, Bread and Wine for the Dirt, appeared in 1997.
