Artist Biography by

I was born in Cadillac, Mich., and split my youth between there and Grand Rapids, Mich. Later I attended Central Michigan University, graduating with a degree in journalism and history, and have worked since then, for the past five and a half years, for the Morning Sun Newspaper in Mt. Pleasant. For the first two years I was a sports writer, and since then have served as news editor, responsible for the content and design of three separate daily zoned editions of the newspaper. In the past three years, we have been named the Michigan Press Association's "Newspaper of the Year" twice.

Since I graduated college, I have spent a lot of my free time educating myself about music, starting with rock and roll and then delving full-bore into the blues, and to a lesser extent, jazz. I have a large and diverse collection of compact discs, and continue to read about and listen to as much music as I can. I have written music reviews for our newspaper for the past few years. ~ Steve Coon
