Following a trend that continues to spread both in their homeland and abroad, Germany's Since the Day splice black and death metal influences with hardcore to create a combustible blend of visceral but lucid and informed aggression. Founded in the town of Siegen, in the winter of 2001, the group's first recordings came to light the following year as a split-CD with Iceland's Snafu, entitled Things You Barely Know; after which guitarists Sebastian and Friedrich, bassist Andreas, drummer Bastian, and newly acquired vocalist Daniel (ex Absidia) began work on their debut full-length, 2005's El Mensajero No Es Importante.
