Artist Biography

This New York hardcore quartet was formed in 1985 by Stegmon Von Heintz (guitar), Karl Agell (vocals), Rick Stone (bass) and M.S. Evans (drums). Their recorded debut came on a compilation album, The People Are Hungry. This led to a contract with Metal Blade Records and the release of We The People in 1988. Assimilating influences drawn from punk and thrash bands such as Bad Brains, Anthrax and D.O.A. , it featured vitriolic lyrics addressing social and political injustices. The production was very ragged, however, and the messages were swamped beneath the drum and bass-laden tumult.
