The musical traditions of Sweden are projected with unprecedented energy by Stockholm-based quartet, Rotvalta. An offshoot of Rosenbergs Sjua, Rotvalta represents the combined efforts of Rosenbergs Sjua's Suzanne Rosenberg on vocals, Sven Ahlback on fiddle and vocals and Mikael Marin on viola and vocals, along with cellist Mats Olofson. Much of the group's repertoire was culled from early-20th century recordings. Their unique, eastern European-influenced, two-part vocal harmonies give their music a modern sensibility.
