An influential member of Nó em Pingo d'Água, Rodrigo Lessa participated on three of its albums, including Salvador, which was awarded with the Sharp Prize as Best Instrumental Group. As arranger, he worked for many top acts like Ney Matogrosso, Guinga, Leila Pinheiro, and Ivan Lins. As a sideman, he played and recorded for Chico Buarque, Paulinho da Viola, Sivuca, Rafael Rabelo, and Lula Galvão, and also participated in festivals around Europe and North and South America. His first solo CD, Solbambá, was released in 1998.
