Talented musician of Mexican descent René Ornelas (born René Víctor Ornelas) began getting involved in popular music while singing and playing trumpet in his father's band, the Mike Ornelas Orchestra, during the early '50s. After teaming up with René Herrera and putting together a duo called René y René, "Lo Mucho Que te Quiero" (The More I Love You) and "Angelito" (Little Angel) became his major hits. René y René toured worldwide and all around the U.S., captivating thousands of followers. On March 10, 1990, they were inducted in the Tejano Music Hall of Fame in San Antonio, TX.
