German record label associated with the Harthouse Records/Eye Q group, whose managing director is Heinz Roth. They had the sum total of their product, six albums, released in the UK for the first time in 1994. Each CD arrived in a cover painted by a cult German arist, packaged in recyclable cardboard. The albums were: Straylight (Dominic Woosey), Looking Beyond (Ralf Hildenbeutel), Constellation (Oliver Lieb), Baked Beans (Helmut Zerlett), Archaic Modulation (Stevie Be Zet) and Rhythm & Irrelevance (#9 Dream). Roth: "It's very much like a community project...Recycle Or Die is not an ambient label. It's more experimental. It's not like putting together a couple of sounds and smoking a joint". Recycle Or Die took a stage in the 1994 Montreaux Jazz Festival, where Ralph Hildenbeutel, Sven Vath's engineer, played.
