A rather sad four-piece all-female UK band comprising ‘glamour’ models and Stripagram girls, the line-up of Oral (a suitably childish reference point) consisted of Bev (vocals), Monica (guitar), Dee (drums) and Candy (bass). Candy had quit by the time their only album was released and as they played no gigs, it is questionable whether any of them could play at all. Evidently the whole thing was designed to further their day jobs, and they gained a little publicity thanks to song titles such as ‘I Need Discipline’ and ‘Gas Masks Vicars And Priests’. Their debut album was entitled Sex, written so that anyone glancing at the sleeve would read simply ‘Oral Sex’. Even the group’s version of the Sex Pistols’ ‘Black Leather’ was ill-advised.
