When Canadian hard rockers April Wine disintegrated in 1985, lead vocalist Goodwin embarked on a solo career. He immediately divorced himself from the style to which he was accustomed. Forsaking his blues rock roots, he concentrated on MOR pop/rock with understated guitar and lightweight harmonies. Utilizing the services of session musicians, he recorded a self-titled debut on the Atlantic label in 1988. This failed to win a new audience, and at the same time alienated his former fanbase. The album sank without trace and little has been heard of him since.
