Artist Biography by

Kristen Lee Sohacki resides in a suburb of Chicago, IL, where she has lived on and off her whole life. She spent her early childhood attempting to play several different musical instruments but eventually decided that record collecting was a better hobby. Before she was a teenager she begged her parents to take her to concerts. She soon found out that an easy way to get tickets to concerts was by using her mother's credit card. She didn't realize that she would eventually get a bill outlining several charges to Ticketmater. Her first concert she was allowed to go to was Culture Club. Her seats were in the last row of the second balcony but she can still remember the five different costume changes Boy George did for that tour. Kristen couldn't wait to turn 21, not so she could go drinking at the bars, but so she could go see live music at late night shows at Metro. She graduated from Northern Illinois University where she majored in communications media studies. She was the concert coordinator for three years and under her direction the University's concert program was named one of the best in the country by Entertainment Weekly. Upon graduation she worked in press and publicity for March Records, a small independent label in Chicago. She also was a manager for a major music retailer where she made her actual salary. After a few years in the record store business she ended up managing an all rap store and eventually got burned out chasing shoplifters and breaking streetdates. She left the label before it's demise but continued to work with local Chicago bands doing press work and publicity. Kristen currently is an event coordinator for a major bookstore and music retailer. She tries to stay active in the local music seen by catching as many shows as possible and checking out tons of demos. ~ Kristen Sohacki
